Shape Painting can be done outside or inside with blacklight or without blacklight. The fluorescent paints look good under regular light, mixed light (blacklight and regular light together) or under full blacklight (UV) Here is an example of a finished composition under all 3 types of lighting.

Freedom

The theme song for FREEDOM was Donovan's Greatest Hits album "Colors " The idea was to paint a flag on First Friday during a blacklight art performance.  Once the Flag prop was introduced volunteers were asked to add to it and paint it in.

"Shape Painting" with (UV) Blacklight is an immersive art experience for people of all ages and skill levels. It is a portable interactive group art project that encourage participants to paint images on recycled cardboard boxes either freestanding or attached to a surface. Theme examples: Favorite Pastimes, Music, Holidays, Seasons etc..The painted images on the recycled cardboard are made into group or individual collage from the theme painting activity. The four stages of this concept are to Design, Construct, Deconstruct and Reconstruct the cardboard box into more than one work of art. Participants will learn about form, line, shape, texture and color. There are also *3D glasses which create a 3 dimensional effect that separate the warm and cool tones and can be worn during the art making process. This art technique has a twist because the collage looks like a painting when completed. "Shape Painting" provides participants with a new perspective on collaboration and making art with a group. My hope is that everyone will enjoy art and work together to use this art method in their future endeavors.
